Children

Child custody
In Texas child custody is referred to as conservatorship. Conservatorship decisions will include which person has the right to make decisions for the child including where they live, where they go to school, what activities they participate in, and what type of medical treatment they receive.
Child visitation
In Texas visitation is referred to as possession and access. An agreement or court order for visitation and access will determine who has the right to possession of the child and what dates and times the possession will occur.
Child support
Parents have a legal duty to support their children in Texas. An agreement or court order for child support will specify who needs to pay child support, what amount they will pay, and when the payments will be due.
Medical/Dental support
Parents have a legal duty to support their children in Texas. This includes a duty to provide support for medical and dental insurance/costs. An agreement or court order for medical and dental support will specify who needs to pay support, what amount they will pay, and when the payments will be due.
Paternity
Sometimes situations arise where there may be a question as to a child’s paternity. Other times, a person may seek to establish a legal parental relationship between a child and a father.
Adoption
Is the legal process where a child joins a family that is different from their biological parents. The outcome is a wonderful and joyous but the process can be complex depending on different factors.
